The odor is caused from bacteria’s. You need a bio-enzyme to digest them. There is a product you can get called “Natures Miracle.” You can find it at pet stores. It’s used for getting rid of pet odors. The product needs dwell time to work. Typically being in a wet state for about 24 hours. If this is a synthetic material you should have no problems. If it’s cotton my may encounter browning from it being wet for two long. You can avoid this by using several applications of smaller amounts of product allowing it to dry in between.
